Brass Castle Brewery is the UK’s foremost brewer of vegan and gluten-free craft beers.  We mash grains, boil hop charges, pitch yeast, rack into casks, seam cans and do an awful lot of cleaning, right in the centre of Malton.  The result is a range of award-winning beers that find their way all around the UK and beyond.

When it began life in a garage on Brass Castle Hill in Pocklington in 2011, the brewery produced four casks at a time. Within two months Brass Castle had won Champion Beer at the York CAMRA Beer Festival.  Within six months, brewing moved to Lord Halifax’s historic Garrowby Estate brewhouse and two years later, Brass Castle installed new brewkit in Malton town centre. At full tilt the microbrewery can produce 200 casks of beer a week.  We’re still brewing inefficiently – but we are authentic, and that’s how we like it.  In addition to a wide range of cask ales, some beers are canned or bottled, and others are put into kegs.  All the beer produced at Brass Castle is vegan and vegetarian friendly.  We do not use any animal-derived ingredients in our brewery processes.  A number of our beers are also certified gluten-free – including everything that goes into cans.
