Patrons 8.03 Vague. The third hop in this series is a relatively new US offering, Loral. When we were first introduced to this variety, its suitability for IPA/Lager hybrid styles immediately jumped out. Its flavour notes read as a bridge between European noble hops and the US ‘C’ hops, offering up a floral, lightly peppery character backed up by plenty of citrus fruit which translates nicely through to the beer. Expect grassy, orange and peach notes to come through prominently in the aroma and the citrus and pepper notes to linger long in the after taste, enhancing the quenching nature of this soft, clean lager.
