We’ve been holding off putting out a statement regarding the recent coronavirus news as we didn’t want to add to the noise, but the reality is that measures seem to be changing nationally and globally on a daily basis, so we feel it’s important that we share with you what we are currently doing and, as much as we can, what we will do in the event of significant changes to the way we operate.

All surfaces which are regularly touched by customers are sanitised regularly. This has been a policy of ours since we first opened, but the recent coronavirus outbreak has brought the importance of this into sharp focus.

We have hand sanitiser in store, and we welcome customers to ask to use it should they wish. Staff will be regularly washing hands with hot soapy water.

We won’t be shaking hands with anyone, so please don’t be offended if an arm isn’t extended in your direction.

We wipe all cans & bottles when they are placed into the fridges, and periodically during the day. We recommend that you wipe them with hot soapy water when you get home too to lessen the risk of the virus being passed on.

We will be using contactless as our primary way of taking payment, and we will not be taking cash for the foreseeable future. Did you know you can use Apple Pay / Android pay on your phone, and there is no £30 limit?

We will implement social distancing as much as possible in our small shop, to protect our customers and our staff. If we get ill the shop has to close so this is extremely important. If you feel uncomfortable entering due to the amount of people inside please wait outside the shop as it won’t be long until the shop is empty. At busy times we ask anyone not buying beer to please wait outside.

We encourage you to use our website where we offer click and collect to reduce the amount of time you need to be in store.

We already offer free shipping on orders of £50 or more which we recommend you take advantage of.

We really value your support in the coming weeks. We really hope we don’t need to close the shop for any period, but if we are forced to close your custom now is incredibly important for us to be able to continue to sell great beer to you all once this all blows over!

We are monitoring the advice being issued by the government, the news media and the World Health Organisation and acting accordingly. We will update you here and on our social media channels should our operating measures change.
